Kwara Police parades killers of notorious cultist, Bayo Ajia

Two years after he was gruesomely murdered, the Kwara State Police command has arrested killers of cult kingpin, Bayo Ajia.

A notorious cult member, Abolaji Safti Ojulari of Kankatu area allegedly confessed to have among those that murdered Ajia sometime in January 2018.

Recall that the cult leader was killed in cold blood by alleged members of a rival cult group who shot and matcheted him.

However, the suspect was said to have also confessed to have led the gang that assassinated Bukola Ajikobi, an undergraduate of College of Education, Lafiagi, on the 18th of January, 2016.

The suspect who had been on the wanted list of the Kwara State Police command for involvement in several murder cases within Ilorin, the state capital, was alleged to have alongside his fellow cult members killed 11 persons in different parts of the metropolis.

Ojulari was paraded alongside other arrested cult members at the state police headquarters on Thursday.

While parading the suspects, the state Commissioner of Police Aminu Saleh said the suspects arrested were members of the Aiye confraternity who had been involved in killings and criminal activities within the state capital.

Other members of his gangs are Olaitan Oganija, Olamide Burudeen, Eleyele Jamiu, Adeyi, Muritala Sardine, Tiro, Ijoba, Azeez, Lawal, Abiodun Yenike, Ayo aka Ay,Tobi and Dimeji.

It was disclosed that the gang also killed one Azeez Lawal aka Efo of Oja-Oba area, Lateef of Ode Alfa Nda and Jamiu of Idi-Ape in February this year respectively.

According to the police boss, one Segun of Kankatu area was murdered by the gang in september 2017; a certain Wasiu of Shao Garage area fell victim on September 2016 and one Musiliu of Shao Garage area was killed in February 2018.

Others were a certain Lateef who was hacked down at Baboko area in January 2016; a student, Abbey of Niger area killed in April 2017 and Lanre of Isale Aluko area assassinated in 2016.
