The Wife of the Senate President, Barrister Toyin Saraki has been described as a worthy ambassador of Kwara State.

She has been christened as " Adubarin Matosi" of Kwara State, by the State House of Assembly ".

The Legislators made the observation in Ilorin at a Special Session in honour of the wife of the Senate President who was on advocacy visit to the State House of Assembly on Maternal and Child Health.

Members while justifying their impressions of the wife of the Senate President, noted with delight that her pet project ,Wellbeing Foundation, in collaboration with Johnson & Johnson had made significant impact on the lives of the people of the state in particular and the nation in general.

They noted with delight that the Wellbeing Foundation which came into being in 2004 in partnership with Johnson & Johnson had succeeded in improving the quality of emergency obstetric care and new born care in 48 health care facilities across the state, improve capacity of hospital providers and facilities in the State and University Teaching Hospitals to ensure quality health care delivery in the state.

In his remark, the Speaker, Dr. Ali Ahmad, explained that the House was celebrating the wife of the Senate President, in view of her commitment to serving humanity.

Dr. Ahmad noted with delight that Barrister Saraki,whom he observed, had touched the lives of the vulnerable said she had made the State a pacesetter of health indices in the country.

Responding, Barrister Saraki said the visit to the House was aimed at ensuring that all stakeholders at all levels promote strategies that will reduce the rate of maternal and neonatal mortality.

She expressed confidence that the scaling up of innovative programmes like Mama Care, maternal programmes, WBFA'S Emergency obstetric and newborn care and support of local and international partners, the lives of mothers and children would be saved.

Barrister Saraki praised the legislature for making the State House of Assembly a pacesetter and cynosure of all eyes in the country .
