CCT: Saraki ''ll be vindicated at Supreme Court, says Kwara Speaker

Date: 2017-12-13

As the Appeal Court today acquitted the Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki, on 15 out of the 18 charges at the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT), the Speaker, Kwara State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Dr. Ali Ahmad, says the 3 remaining charges will evaporate at the Supreme Court.

Furthermore, Ahmad said he believes all the charges against Saraki at the CCT hold no water.

A statement issued by his Special Assistant on Media, Shuaib Abdulkadir in Ilorin following the Appeal Court judgement described the issue as nothing but a distraction of the number 3 citizen in the country.

He, however, urged the Senate President to proceed to the Supreme Court and exercise his constitutional right to finally dismiss the remaining charges and clear his name of any wrongdoing.

According to him, Nigerians have by now lost interest in the whole matter because looking back at the CCT prosecution, they now believe it was more of a circus than pursuit of ideals of justice.

The lawmaker firmly believes that the matter will be laid to rest at the Apex Court and allow the Senate President to focus on his duties at the National Assembly.
