Ex-LP guber candidate admonishes Muslims to sustain Ramadan lessons

A former Governorship candidate of the Labour Party in the 2015 general elections in Kwara State, Dr Mike Omotosho, yesterday urged Muslim faithful to sustain good virtues exhibited during the just concluded holy month of Ramadan.

He said the sacred month characterized by high level of spiritual discipline, reflections, empathy, tolerance and generosity should not be allowed to slip by in the interest of the generality of the populace.

A statement issued by his media office in commemoration of Eid-el-Fitr, Omotosho, founder of Mike Omotosho Foundation, noted that the internalization of those good qualities would make the country to be better for it regardless of creed, language and ethnic affiliations.

He explained that the nation's current challenges cannot be divorced from the inability of every Nigerian to see and project the country first before any other consideration.

Omotosho, a renowned pharmacist also called on Nigerians to be guided by spirit of brotherhood and sisterhood and support leaders with determination and commitment to restore the country on the path of glorious past.

The former governorship candidate also felicitated with all Kwarans, particularly Muslims for witnessing and celebrating yet another festival and prayed Almighty Allah to safeguard them all.

"There is no doubt that this just concluded holy month of Ramadan taught us good lessons to internalize as Muslims and by extension Nigerians. We need to live by those good virtues, we exhibited throughout the sacred month.

"We are people of diverse culture and ethnic nationalities. I think our inability to see and project Nigeria first wherever we are, has been a major setback for us as a country. We need to cultivate those good qualities that would make us great again.

"We want to use this opportunity to felicitate with all Kwarans, especially the Muslim Ummah as we celebrate yet another Eid el Fitr. It's been one solid month of spiritual discipline, reflections, empathy, tolerance and generosity. I pray that the Almighty Allah reward our act of Ibadah.

"As we celebrate, we want to urge us to continue in the lessons and spirit of the holy month.On behalf of the extended family of the Mike Omotosho Foundation, kindly accept our warmest regards to you and your family this season", Omotosho said.
