God Will Use Nigeria to Reshape The World - Cleric

Date: 2012-08-05

Pastor Leye Ogundiran, Senior Pastor at the Living Wisdom Sanctuary, Ilorin, Kwara state in this chat with BIODUN OYELEYE insisted that despite the myriad of challenges facing the Nigerian nation, she remains a unique instrument in the hands of God to influence affairs, not only at home, but generally abroad. Nigeria, to this man of God, is not just a project, but Gods agenda for the new world order. Excerpts:

DO you believe in the Nigerian project?

Nigeria is not just a project, Nigeria is Gods agenda for the new world order. The bible described Nigeria as a nation above Ethiopia, divided by river. Look around the whole world, geographically, there is no such country with the same description as this in the world map. God wants to use Nigeria to reshape the entire world and that is why we tend to be passing through all these travails, it’s like our wilderness experience.

God, using Nigeria to shape up the whole world?

Yes, that is why the unity of Nigeria is not negotiable, we are just passing through trying times, we shall overcome in Jesus name

But it was predicted that there may not be a Nigeria by 2015?

That’s a lie, come what may, Nigeria will wax stronger and will more relevant in the committee of nations. I don’t know where that prediction came from or what purpose it is intended to project but what I’m sure of is that on Nigeria lies the hope of the entire world, time will tell. Very soon Nigeria will become the envy of nations; other nationals will come here asking to be our citizen. Those who mock our nation will soon bite their fingers in regret and lean upon our nation. The break up prediction is not from God.

Nigeria is going through the wilderness stage; our land of Canaan is close by. Nigerians should put heads together, accept each other and live for a better future perfect in God’s master plan. See Isaiah 18 and Zephaniah 3:10. All our diversity, having 250 ethnicities, languages and religions will be a thing with which Nigeria shall be known for greatness. These all will become the pride of our dear nation, just wait and see.

So Nigerian should be praying for these to happen?

I didn’t say that, Nigeria is already in God’s master plan nothing can change it. Our prayer is just for us to get closer to God and we shall see clearly what he has in store for us. God bless Nigeria.

What is your vision for the church today?

The Church is meant to be a place where people are empowered for excellent living. This is to say that every individual should be taught how to pursue a goal in life. Every individual should know to pursue divine goals, whatever you do must have global impact, must be relevant, significant, outstanding and unique. These are the five basic things that we teach people as the basic ways to make it in life. At the Living Wisdom Sanctuary, we teach people to walk and work in god’s perfect plan for their life. These are God’s tested and tried principles for excellent living.

The purpose of life is a life of purpose; a life lived in the perfect plan of God. The church has a role to play in awakening the members to the light f what God created them to be, in His own image, in power, honour and wisdom; a life of value to all. You are not just any body, you are unique, and the bible calls you a wonderfully and fearfully made personality. Teaching the people all that God wants for them is the focus of my call. As children of God, we must prosper. In my church the old, the young, women and men know all these and it shows in their daily life as they prosper.

Are you one of the prosperity Preachers?

I don’t know what you mean by that but as a Christian, you should prosper. The challenge we have with the so called prosperity preachers is that they centre on materiality acquisition alone. When you say ‘prosperity’, the bible says in third John verse 2 he said "Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health…" so it is Gods wish that man prosper. Placing emphasis only on materiality will not only destroy the man but will destroy the soul and the society. What shall it profit a man if he gains the whole world and loss his own soul?

What about the security challenge in the country?

Yes, I think it is high time Christians engaged in a protest march to government houses to register our feelings on how our people are being killed. We should just pick one Sunday to do that. Killing Christians is not acceptable . in any part of Nigeria. It is unfortunate that ' the government is paying lip service to these issues.

These Boko Haram people know where governments seats are, instead of attacking churches, it should be government houses and offices, the way they are doing it, it will prove nothing but a religious attack in the nation and it is dangerous for the nation and the democracy. If government refuse to do something, something dangerous can happen.

Religion is a volatile issue, government should not play politics with it.

Do you still believe in President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan administration?

I do, the bible says that all governments in power are installed by God. As Christians we should support all government programmes and policies towards peace and unity in Nigeria.
