Kwara Government urged to establish National Industrial Court

The President, National Industrial Court of Nigeria, Justice Babatunde Adejumo has sought the support of the Kwara state government in establishing permanent National Industrial Court in Ilorin.

Justice Adejumo said this when he visited Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed of Kwara State at the Government House, Ilorin.

The President gave the assurance that once the facility is put in place, the Court would be established in the state to save Lawyers and Litigants from travelling to National Industrial Court in Akure, Ondo State or Ibadan in Oyo State to seek redress.

Justice Adejumo said the Court had midwifed in a number of cases between employees and employers of labour with a view to ensuring industrial harmony in the country.

Earlier, Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed said he was committed to assisting the National Industrial Court of Nigeria to facilitate quick dispensation of industrial related cases and promote industrial harmony in the state.

The Governor who expressed the determination to partnering with the Judiciary and other federal agencies identified justice as major ingredient for economic growth and development of the society.

He said the support with the Industrial Court in the state would save lawyers and litigants from travelling to other states to seek redress.

Governor Ahmed promised that his government would not relent in creating conducive environment for the delivery of quality services to the people of the state.
