Kwara State Gov­ernment is to complete Asa Dam- Egbejila, Airport road to forestall unnec­essary loss of lives and property as well as fa­cilitate vehicular move­ment on the route.

The Speaker of the state assembly, Dr Ali Ahmad, gave the as­surance in Ilorin while addressing members of Ajegunle-Egbejila com­munity in Ilorin who protested to the state House of Assembly due to the non-completion of the road by the con­tractor handling the road project.

Ahmad represented by the Clerk of the House, Mr Simon Oke­dare, said the state gov­ernment was committed towards completing all ongoing road projects in the state, adding that contractors handling ongoing road projects had been mobilised to site by the state govern­ment to fast-track the socio-economic eman­cipation of the state.

He expressed dis­pleasure at the spate of erosion that led to loss of lives along the ongoing project, and assured that prompt ac­tion would be taken by the state government to permanently address the menace of erosion in the area.
