Ilorin Golf Club increases enrolment, subscription fees

Date: 2016-09-02

The Ilorin Golf Clubý has increased its enrolment and subscription fees in order to generate more revenue for the maintenance of the club. This is as the club also levied all its members to pay certain amount for the same purpose as well as look for other means of generating revenue from the club.

The Resident Professional Golfer, Mr. Friday Adache disclosed this yesterday while speaking with Weekly Golf Digest in Iloriný, the Kwara state capital. "Maintaining the club has been a bit challenging but the state government has really tried, coupled with the fact that the state governor is also a golfer, he has been helping us.

"During our just-concluded Extra-ordinary General Meeting (EGM) members suggested we should increase our enrolment fee from N100, 000 to N150, 000 while we also reviewed our annual subscription upward from N20, 000 to N50, 000 and the form remains N1,000.

"Members also gave other positive suggestions on how to move the club forward and levied themselves N30, 000 as voluntary contribution for the maintenance of the club," Adache said.

Apart from the review of the fees and voluntary contributions, members also agreed to let out the club hall to outsiders for meetings and receptions where they can as well generate little amount.

"Before now, only our members are allowed to use the hall for their functions but as an alternative way of generating fund, we have decided to let it out to non-members of the club for their functions and pay certain amount for that," Adache explained.

ýOn the student membership, he said students at all levels are given associate membership and paid N52, 000 for enrolment and annual subscription of N12, 000. On activities of the club, he said CMCN tournament usually sponsored by Olusola Adekanola was supposed to come up anytime from now but has been postponed till further notice.

The tournament according to the resident golf professional was supposed to take place in three different locations of Ilorin golf club, Port Harcourt Golf Club and Abeokuta Golf Club.

Aside CMCN tourney, Adache added that there would be a tournament in October but said the members are still going round to get sponsors while the club tournament is played every month to celebrate birthday of members born in that particular month.
