Governor Ahmed Condemns Share Killings as Barbaric

Date: 2016-08-04

Kwara State Governor, Dr Abdulfatah Ahmed, has condemned the dastardly murder of some farmers in Share, headquarters of Ifelodun Local Government Area of the state by yet-to-be-identified persons.

Gov Ahmed, in a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Abdulwahab Oba, described the incident as unfortunate and unacceptable as no individual, or group of people, for whatever reason, has the right to take the law into their hands.

According to the Governor, this incident is particularly worrisome and disturbing at a time the state government was taking advantage of the improving fortunes from the Federation Account and huge success of the rejuvenated internal revenue generating mechanism to enhance the economic development of the state.

"Our heart goes out to the families of the victims of this barbaric murder, even as we promise to bring the culprits to face the full wrath of the law. This government shall not condone lawlessness from any quarters," the governor affirmed.

He, however, urged the people of the state to remain calm as the state government and security agencies remained committed to safeguarding the lives and property of the people of the State.
