Kwara Meets 100 Percent Revenue Target -Governor Ahmed
The Kwara State Governor, Dr. Abdulfattah Ahmed, has said the restructured state revenue service has been able to realise its target 100 percent and hopes to triple that in the next three years.
The governor said the improvement in the internally generated revenue of the state would determine if the state would still takes the N20 billion bond at the capital market or from any other credit windows available to it.
Ahmed said these during an interview with journalists in Ilorin, the state capital, where he revealed that the improvement in the IGR and drop in the federal allocation to the state might however lead to a reduction of the bond from N20 billion to N10 billion to carry out some projects in the state.
"I am happy to say that our IGR has improved and we have realised 100 percent and hope to increase it to 400 to 500 percent because the revenue service has the potential to increase to N5 billion monthly instead of N1.1 billion generated now," Ahmed said.
