Alhaji Ibrahim further disclosed that in 2014, a total of 1,298 officers were promoted resulting in additional monthly and annual financial commitment of N4.95m and N59.36m respectively. While in 2015, another set of 1,417 officers were promoted with a monthly increase in salary of N 5.77m and an annual increase of N69.198m in that year. This resulted in a total increase of N128.558m above the salary commitment for both years.
Despite the financial challenges in the last two to three years, Ibrahim noted that the Kwara state government had never failed to achieve both the payment of salaries and pensions in the last five years. He, therefore, commended the Kwara state government's consistent commitment to its workforce in spite of the significant drop in allocations.
