Beware of Kwara PDP's antics; Olusola Saraki warns traditional rulers

Date: 2011-03-15

FORMER Senate leader, Dr Olusola Saraki, has advised traditional rulers in Kwara State not to embrace the antics of the state government which has threatened to downgrade those who fail to support the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP).

On a campaign tour of Oyun Local Government Area to drum up support for the Allied Congress Party of Nigeria, ACPN, Dr Saraki said he has heard stories that the government was trying to hoodwink royal fathers to support the PDP while also threatening those who fail to do so.

"We have seen this tactic before. It will fail, because this government cannot do anything in three weeks," Dr Saraki said at the palace of Elerin of Erin-Ile, Oba Abdulganiyu Ajibola.

The strongman of Kwara politics also accused the PDP government of "indiscriminate and punitive "transfer of teachers who allegedly showed sympathy for other parties beside PDP.
