'Niger Tornadoes is a new start for me' - Ismail Gata

Date: 2016-03-23

The forward admits he is settling into life in the 2016 NPFL season with Tornadoes and claims his best days are yet to come.

Former Enyimba forward Ismail Gata joined Niger Tornadoes from Kwara United before the current season started and has scored four league goals since his arrival at the Minna based team.

After the relegation of Kwara United to the Nigeria National League, the ex Kukesi attacker had to look for employment elsewhere. "Now I am here and I am feeling good," Gata told Goal.

"Niger Tornadoes is a new start for me. I felt bad when Kwara United got relegated to the Nigeria National League. Such is life." Gata, whose younger brother, Adeshina Gata stars for Kwara United says he is targeting more goals in the 2016 NPFL campaign.

"When coach Abdullahi Biffo started to show interest in me things progressed very fast," he added. "Coach Biffo is someone I respect a lot and at the end of the day the deal was struck."

"My best phase is yet to come. If I more than 15 goals for Niger Tornadoes I would be a happy man. "Nothing is impossible but it is extremely difficult, of course."
