Civil Servants' screening to commence soon -HOS
The Head of service of Kwara state, Hajia Zarah Omar says the screening of civil servant certificates in Kwara state will commence soon.
Omar who stated this while featuring on a radio. Kwara audience participatory programme (Yenku- yengooru), said the screening was not to witch hunt or reduce the work force but to have the data base of workers with genuine certificate for proper documentation, the HOS therefore advised genuine workers with genuine certificates not to panic.
She also noted that the delay in payment of salaries of local government workers was as a result of corrupt practices perpetrated by some unfaithful civil servants, stressing that, that was the reason why the state government ordered civil servants to obtain and submit their Bank Verification Numbers.
She commended the leadership style of the Kwara state Governor, Alhaji Abdul Fatah Ahmed in steering the ship of the state to greater heights.
The HOS said the governor's passion and love for the people at the grass root has no boundary, but blamed the short fall in federal allocation for the shortcoming of governance in the state. Omar however charged women in the country to continue to be vanguards of good moral behaviours.
She urged them not to allow the civil service career to affect the activities of their home front and particularly called on parents to closely monitor and supervise their children and wards for a better future.
A caller appreciated the state government for the award and commencement of the Ilesha Baruba - Gwonara road project and called for expedient action on the take-off of the satellite campus of Kwara state University in the area. Other caller commended the head of service for upholding the principle of professionalism to the civil service in the state
