KW-IRS Collaborates with the Nigerian Police Force on Enforcement

The Kwara State Internal Revenue Service (KW-IRS) team led by the Executive Chairman, Dr Muritala Awodun visited the Kwara State Commissioner of Police, Sam A. Okaula and his team on 3 March 2015.

The purpose of the meeting was to commence enforcement. It is security personnel who are by law authorised to carry out enforcement.

As such, the KW-IRS intends to also work with the Department of State of Security and the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps.

The importance of enforcement as explained by Dr Awodun is to ensure compliance, prosecute defaulters and stop unauthorised persons from illegal transactions with the residents of Kwara.
