The federal government has concluded arrangements to host a national summit on culture and tourism as part of its economic diversification effort. Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed said, during a courtesy visit to the Lagos State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode in Lagos that the summit will hold in April.

A statement by the minister's Special Assistant on Media, Segun Adeyemi said the summit would bring all stakeholders together to examine and proffer solutions to the problems militating against culture and tourism being a huge revenue-earner for the country. He also said the summit, which will hold in Abuja on the 11th and 12th of April, will bring to the forefront federal government's ongoing efforts to diversify the economy away from oil.
