Atunwa Empowers 150 Youths With Skill Acquisition

In his bid to fight unemployment to the barest minimum, the Lawmaker representing Asa/Ilorin West Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives, Rt Hon Razak Atunwa, has trained 150 youths in various vocations of their interests. This was made known by his media aide, Olawale Rotimi who stated this during a briefing with journalists in Ilorin.

"Rt. Hon. Atunwa has put this training together to keep the youths engaged, reduce unemployment, empower the teeming population of youth in the Constituency and enhance the capacity of unemployed graduates across the Constituency. In this first phase of the training, 150 youths benefitted from various vocational training held at Queen's School, Ilorin" he said.

Further speaking, Olawale stated that Rt. Hon Atunwa's leadership recognizes the important role the youth play in building the Constituency, as a result, he is putting in place various youth development programmes to engender in them the common objectives of building the Constituency via economic empowerment and entrepreneurial programmes.

Olawale added that "youth empowerment and job creation are important issues of priority to Rt Hon Razak Atunwa, in recognition of his campaign promises, to empower youths in the Constituency and create more jobs. This 3-day training has exposed 150 youths to skills of their choices, knowledge of starting a business and getting funds to finance their businesses. This is the first phase, more of such in different ways will be packaged by the Rt Honourable for the Constituents"

Speaking to one of the trainees, Abdullahi Habibat, she said the training organized will promote social change and reducing social vices such as fraud, violence and harassment, unemployment, armed robbery, cultism amongst among the youths in the constituency by making them useful to themselves and the nation as a whole. He commended Rt. Hon Razak Atunwa and urged other public office holders to emulate his gesture.
