100 youths, widows empowered in Offa

About one hundred people from Offa local government area of Kwara state have received N0.5million worth of empowerment by cash from legislative aides (LO) of Senate President, Dr, Bukola Saraki from the council.

The Cash was distributed in all the twelve wards in offa by Hajia Kadijat Ibrahim olatiwo, Thursday,and assisted by Former commissioner for education ,Alhaji, Saka Onimang while the beneficiaries were supporters of the All progressive congress {APC} including Women ,students ,widows and Youths.

Speaking at the event which took place at the council, APC secretariat, Offa the senior special Assistant to the Senate President, on legislative aides, Alhaji Saka Onimago ,described the gesture as a way of giving back to the society especially the needy.

Onimago,who was the former commissioner for Education and human capital development in the state, said ,66 senior legislative aides and legislative aides across the sixteen local government area of the state had been selected to ensure proper dispensation of dividends of democracy to the electorate.

He added that appointment of legislative aides by the senate president across the State was to maintain regular contact with his people especially at the grassroots, he urged the beneficiaries to use the items given to them to meet their needs.

Hajia olatinwo, said the programme was to appreciate the people for their continued support for the leadership of APC in OFFA Local Government Area of the State.

She urged the youths and widow to make used of the cash giving to them for the intended purpose.

Some of the beneficiaries, who spoke to Daily Times, thanked, Dr Saraki, aides for the gesture and promised to make judicious use of the cash giving to them.
