Wellness Company Lauded for Donating to Refugees
THE business community has been urged to empower victims of the Boko Haram terror as part of their corporate social responsibility initiatives.
Founder/President of the Wellbeing Foundation Africa (WBFA), Toyin Saraki, made the call while welcoming a gesture by a wellness company to donate relief material to internally displaced persons (IDP) camps in Maiduguri, Nassarawa and Yola States.
Saraki urged all corporations to emulate Unilever's example, and incorporate elements of good corporate citizenship into their Corporate Social Responsibility programmes.
She noted Unilever Nigeria helped to distribute personal care and hygiene products to pregnant and nursing mothers in the Wassa IDP Camp in Abuja.Several IDP camps in Borno State as well as and nurses and midwives in Kwara State also benefited.
Saraki expressed appreciation to Unilever for their dedication to advancing the lives of Nigerians by delivering quality health and hygiene products.

The mission is to "ensure that every woman's experience of motherhood is a safe and enjoyable one, and that the factors necessary for dignity, including safe sanitary and hygiene practices, are in place for Nigerian women and families, especially the most vulnerable."Saraki anticipates further collaborative with the company to ensure sustainable livelihoods for Nigerian women and families.
