Nasarawa vs Sharks: Kwara Utd appeals O&D decision, describes it miscarriage of justice
A statement issued by the Club on Friday in Ilorin signed by the Secretary Elder Dele Oguntokun confirmed appeal and described it as miscarriage of justice.
It would be recalled that Sharks FC refused to continue its match day 36 encounter with Nasarawa United in Lafia last Sunday sighting biased officiating after the centre referee had awarded the host a penalty.
The LMC had relied on the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) rule book B13.26 to award Nasarawa Utd 3 goals 3 points and deduct 3 points from the acruable points of Sharks FC as stipulated by the rule but the NFF O&D upturned the decision at its sitting on Thursday in Abuja.
The Club questioned the legality of the O&D judgement which had the Rivers State FA Chairman Mr Christopher Green, presided over the sitting.
The statement stated that no one should be a judge in his own case.
The Club urged the leadership of the NFF not to allow another River State stakeholder Mr Eddy Mark, who is the Chairman of the NFF Appeal Committee to sit over the appeal on Monday in the interest of justice and equity.
"We are deeply disappointed at the O&D decision because we feel there was no justice and equity in it.
"We want to appeal to the leadership of the NFF to ensure NPFL rule B13.26 prevail in this matter in the interest of the game.
"The club wondered why the week 37 game between Sharks and Kwara Utd earlier billed to hold in Enugu was changed to Port Harcourt even when the ruling was that the offending team should play at a neutral ground
"We like to say that the change in venue has also affected our plans to honour the match with Sharks FC but as a law abiding club we will the rule
"The club questioned its security in Port Harcourt if Sharks FC can exhibit such character it had in Lafia on Sunday" the statement said.
