Planned protest by ex-councillors mischievous - Kwara APC
The All Progressives Congress (APC), Kwara State chapter says the planned protest by ex-councillors smarks of mischief.
The party said Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed will only pay severance allowance to ex-councillors in the state when the financial status of the state improves. In a statement issued by its State Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Sulyman Buhari, the party said the planned protest by ex-councillors was unnecessary and politically-motivated.
"They cannot claim ignorance of our financial challenges as a state, and the current audacious efforts of Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed to make Kwara State a self-sustaining state. In its reaction, the PDP, through its Publicity Secretary, Chief Rex Olawoye, said such accusation was a fallacy.
"Are ex-councillors not educated enough to know their right? The people have the right to ask for their entitlement. It is not decent enough to say that. Are we the one who ask the workers of the state owned tertiary institutions to go on strike?" he asked.
