Kwarans congratulate Lai Muhammed

Date: 2015-10-15

THE Kwara South Senatorial Advancement Agenda (KSSAA) yesterday congratulated Alhaji Lai Mohammed for scaling through the huddles of screening as a minister nominee at the Senate "despite attempts by some disgruntled elements to thwart the efforts."

The group had carpeted a sub-Yoruba group, "Igbomina Youth" for allegedly referring to the National Publicity Secretary of All Progressives Congress (APC) as of Lagos extraction rather than being a citizen of Kwara state.

In a press conference in Ilorin yesterday, the group said those behind "the satanic rumour", should be examined in a competent hospital for psychiatric cases.

According to KSSAA General Secretary, "we are happy at last that Mohammed was not even allowed to pass through all the required rigours but was merely asked to take a bow. I think that should serve enough lesson to all the detractors."

For Olabanji, Mohammed remained a bonafide citizen of Irepodun Local Government Area of Kwara, the status he alleged had made the APC stalwart qualified to contest without any hitch for the Governorship of the state some 12 years ago.

Olabanji, in company of the President of the association Adegboyega Adebisi and the Publicity Secretary, Adefila Kolawole said, "our attention has been drawn to an untoward publication in some of the national dailies (The Guardian not inclusive), about the insinuations against our illustrious son Alhaji Lai Mohammed that he is not a native of Kwara state, has no root here and has not contributed to the growth of the state and therefore not fit o be minister designate from Kwara state.
