VC urges support for student-entrepreneurs
Vice-Chancellor of Kwara State University, Professor Abdulrasheed Na'Allah, yesterday urged governments and parents across the country to encourage students who wish to be entrepreneurs.
He made the call while briefing newsmen on the third convocation ceremony of the university slated for Saturday at which no fewer than 732 students spread across five colleges would graduate.
The VC explained that the graduating students had been well prepared to go into the world and become entrepreneurs and employers of labour.
"We have produced students who would not be looking for employment but would employ other people. They would not be parasites in the society. We expect them to be solution for Nigerians," he said. The VC charged parents to stop the habit of going in search of jobs for their children especially those who graduate from KWASU, saying, "they should encourage them to create jobs. They should collaborate with this university.
"They (students) don't need big money to become entrepreneurs. What you need is determination, vision and preparation which we have given them, they should be honest and gradually they would be Dangotes."
