Justice Olatunji Bamigbola sworn-in as the new Acting Chief Judge
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, the State Governor, Dr. Bukola Saraki who was represented by his deputy, Chief Joel Ogundeji stressed the need for team work and advised the new Acting chief Judge to carry along his colleagues in the discharge of duties so as to consolidate on the achievements of his predecessor.
Dr. Saraki, who congratulated Justice Bamigbola on his appointment, restated the commitment of his administration to the Rule of Law and Separation of Power in a bid to enhance the well-being of the people of the State.
He, however, cautioned him not to allow himself to be corrupted by power and to always lead by example so that the State Judiciary can continue to excel among its contemporaries.
In his brief remarks, the State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Alhaji Saka Isau(SAN) said the appointment of the Acting Chief Judge was in line with Section 271 sub-section 4 of the 1999 Constitution, expressing confidence in the ability of Justice Bamigbola to take the Judiciary to greater height.
Responding, the new Acting Chief Judge, Justice Bamigbola praised the State Government for improving the condition of service of Judicial Officers and promised to uphold the principle of fairness and to sustain standard under his leadership.
He also commended the State Government for ensuring that the Child Right Bill was passed into law and promised to bring quick dispensation of Justice to the door step of every Kwarans.
Justice Bamigbola, who was born 60 years ago in Omu-Aran, Irepodun Local Government Area of the State started his judicial career in 1968 and was appointed High Court Judge in 1984.
