Kwara Group Urges Nigerians to Support Saraki's Senate Presidency Bid
A group of Kwaran State elite, comprising various professionals including Islamic scholars, has expressed support for the senate presidency ambition of the former Governor of the state, Senator Bukola Saraki, calling on Nigerians to also support his bid.
The group which organised a special prayer in honour of the senator at a central mosque at Obalende, Lagos, recently commended everybody who attended section and prayed to Allah to accept all the offered prayers to soften the minds of all other distinguished Senators to vote, accept and support Saraki's ambition.
The Chief Imam of the Mosque Al-Sheik-Al-Islam, Alhaji Babatunde Shehu, prayed to Almighty Allah to protect, guide and elevates the senator above his pears especially as he pursues the senate president seat.
Also, the spokesman for the organising group, Alhaji Mohammed K. Dauda, said Saraki is the most qualified distinguished senator to man the number three seat of the country "because he is well read, exposed, experience and capable to stand up at all times for the interest of common men and the nation at large."
Dauda said it was Saraki who first raised the issue on oil subsidy, and also led the defected Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governors about a year ago to All Progressives Congress (APC). This action, he said: "Helped APC a lot in getting to where they are today and it also led to the beginning of PDP destruction. He delivered Kwara State and the Middle Belt to the APC as demonstrated in the presidential election for the first time in history.
"Finally, no Kwaran has ever been opportune to assume this position since inception of democracy in Nigeria, and we therefore appeal to the entire senate members to give Saraki and all Kwarans the necessary support to win the prestigious seat.
"We implore all Nigerians especially the Senators to rise and support him in his bid for the highest seat in the National Assembly. May Allah make this a reality for us all, amen."
Some of the dignitaries who attended the prayer section were Mohammed K. Dauda, Rauf Ajumobi, Ibrahim Sa'ad, Abdullahi Kadiri, Afeez Adeyemo, Lanre, among others.
