Two persons, Tajudeen Salman, 27 of Ogidi Ajibensin Area, Ilorin, Kwara State and Abbas Rafiu, 27 Cele Aroro Area, Iwo, Osun State, who allegedly conspired and attempted to dispossess a woman of her valuables at gunpoint have been remanded at Federal Prison, Oke-Kura, Ilorin.

An Ilorin Magistrate Court ordered the remand of the accused having appeared before it on a two-count charge of criminal conspiracy and attempted armed robbery, contrary to Sections 6B and 2(2A and B) of Armed Robbery and Firearms (Special Provision) Act Cap R11, Law of the Federation of Nigeria, 2004.

The accused allegedly invaded the shop of one Hajia Abdulraheem at Oloje Area, Ilorin, where they demanded for money and other valuable items.

Luck, however, ran against the accused when the victim's husband raised alarm and they took to their heels before they were apprehended by passersby.

The husband, Alhaji Ibrahim Abdulraheem of Federal Low-cost Housing Estate, Oloje Area, Ilorin, had reported the matter at the office of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS), Ilorin, that on May 1, at about 11:00pm, while he was at his residence two suspected armed robbers invaded his wife's shop in front of his residence.

He alleged that one of the accused pointed a locally made pistol at him, while they demanded money.
