Kwara youths walk for change
Various youths organisations Friday joined a Non-Governmental Organisation, Conference of Nigerians in Defence of Democracy to stage a walk for attitudinal change among Nigerians across major streets of Ilorin metropolis.
The exercise which was tagged: "Walk for Change" saw the youths displaying placards with various inscriptions "Let Embrace Change" "Say No to Corruption, "Be Patriotic" and also distributed fliers to commuters and other road users. The 'Walk for Change' which started from the Labour House, beside State High Court took the youths through Challenge, Post Office, Maraba and back to the starting point.
Speaking with newsmen, the State Coordinator, Conference of Nigerians in Defence of Democracy, Comrade Shuaib Farri advocated attitudinal and behavioural change among Nigerians in order to sanitise the system for economic growth. He encouraged Nigerians to imbibe discipline and shun acts capable of retarding the progress of the country.
Comrade Farri advised Nigerians to embrace good values and support government at all levels for good governance for the betterment of the country.
Also speaking, the State Chairman, National Youth Council of Nigeria, Comrade Kazeem Adekanye emphasised that the success of the just concluded general elections could only be meaningful if all Nigerians continue to support good governance at all levels.
He also canvassed support for the Senate Presidency of the Chairman, Senate Committee on Environment and Ecology, Senator Bukola Saraki to enable him use his wealth of experience in leading the upper chambers of the National Assembly.
