PDP Candidate, Kwara Trade Words Over Projects
The governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kwara state, Senator Simeon Ajibola has accused the state government of deceiving the people of the state to win the April 11 governorship election by making bogus claims on its achievements.
Ajibola who spoke during his campaign tour of Kwara south chided the state government for listing the ongoing International Vocational Center project at Ajasse-Ipo as one of its achievements "because government cannot lay exclusive claim to its funding".
But in a swift reaction, the state government challenged the PDP candidate to provide evidence of his contribution to International Vocational Centre, Ajase Ipo or any other state government funded projects.
The government in a statement by the Senior Special Assistant to the governor on Media and Communication, Dr. Muideen Akorede said "for the record, the International Vocational Center, Ajase Ipo and the other projects were funded by the state government through bank facilities that have now been repaid.
"We therefore invite Sen Ajibola to look elsewhere for evidence of what he has done for Kwara South in his three tenures as Senator instead of making false claims to projects funded by the Ahmed.
