Over 200 pensioners benefit from Mike Omotosho Foundation medical outreach

Over two hundred local government and state pensioners benefited from the medical outreach of a Non Governmental Organization, Mike Omotosho Foundation organised for pensioners in Kwara State.

Speaking at the event held at Pensioners secretariat along commissioner's lodge way, ilorin, the Founder of the Foundation, Doctor Mike Omotosho said the gesture was aimed to enable the aged people especially pensioners have access to medical check up to ascertain their health status.

According to him, the Mike Omotosho Foundation is conscious of the well being of the people irrespective of their status, class and creed.

He said " going by our mission statement "meddling for impact", we have continuously imparted and impacted the lives of the people for the better".

Doctor Mike Omotosho who spoke through a member of the Foundation, Hajia Sidikat Taye Yusuf noted that the rationale behind the medical outreach transcends politics or any other sentimental motive.

The Governor Emeritus of the Rotary Club International pointed out that the Foundation was of the view that government cannot solely tend to the needs of the people, hence the need for individuals and organizations to contribute their quota to the well being of the people, especially the aged with particular reference to the retirees.

Doctor Mike Omotosho added that the retiress deserved adequate Medicare, after serving the country and the State selflessly, diligently and meritoriously.

The Founder of the Foundation therefore reiterated that the free medical outreach, which had significantly improved the health status of the people is devoid of political gains, and there should not be any colouration to it.

Doctor Mike Omotosho implored Nigerians to always engage in regular medical checkup to know that health status and build a healthy community, promising that the Foundation would sustain the gesture to complement government's efforts in administering health care to the people across the state.

Speaking with journalists, the Secretary of the sixteen local governments pensioners in the State, Alhaji Saidu Oladimeji lauded the Foundation for deeming it fit to organize such health care programme for the aged people, retirees in particular.

Alhaji Oladimeji noted that majority of them are battling with different ailments, saying that the medical outreach organized for them by Mike Omotosho Foundation would afford them the opportunity to ascertain their health status.

He urged well meaning individuals and other Non Governmental Organizations to also toe the line of Mike Omotosho Foundation towards providing basic health care services for the people.

Also speaking, one of the beneficiaries, Mr. Folorunsho Oni, appreciated the founder of the Foundation for the privilege and gesture provided for the pensioners, describing it as a good initiative that would enable them to access free medical check up.
