Press Release: Mass defection as Shagaya takes campaign to Ilorin West

The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara State on Saturday, 7th February 2015, loss over 800 of its members to the opposition Peoples Democratic party (PDP). This happened during the Ilorin West campaign rally of the House of Representatives candidate of the PDP for Ilorin West/Asa Federal Constituency, Alhaji Sherif Shagaya.

The decampees, who were spread across three wards of Ojuekun-Sarumi, Ogidi and Oloje did not give any reason for their action. However, the decampees in Ojuekun Sarumi ward did a symbolic gesture of tearing the campaign poster of the Presidential candidate of the APC, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari. The decampees in Ogidi ward also submitted their APC membership cards to the Director General (Contact, Mobilization and logistics) of the Sherif Shagaya Campaign Organization, Alhaji Muftau Akanbi Oke.

Shagaya, while addressing the decampees, pledge a better deal for them in the PDP and urged them to mobilize for the party's victory in the 2015 elections.
