Governor Saraki's Sallah Message
In the same vein, the Governor also enjoined Nigerians to demonstrate absolute faith in Allah and believe in His capacity to make the country achieve greatness as the giant of Africa.
Dr. Saraki gave the charge in his Eid-el-fitr sallah message to people of the state, to mark the end of this year’s Ramadan fast.
According to him, "As faithful Muslims, we have all devoted the thirty days to worshipping Allah, with piety, perseverance and kindness to our neighbours beside avoiding other sinful acts."
"It is only logical to sustain this even after the Ramadan fast and ensure that we do not go back to our ugly past and other acts which we abandoned during the period," Governor Saraki said.
Nigeria, he said, would be a better place to live in and even compete favourably with the world powers in terms of economic growth and development if we could adhere to lessons of Ramadan imbibed during the fasting period and make them part of our daily routine even in the post Ramadan period.
On the forthcoming general elections, Governor Saraki called on all political parties to follow strictly the rules of the game to ensure credible elections that would stand the test of time.
He equally appealed to all parents and guardians who have children that had attained voting age to caution them on the need not to allow themselves to be used as political thugs by selfish politicians, pointing out that thuggery is not part of democracy.
While congratulating Muslims in the state for witnessing yet another Eid-el-fitr celebration, the Governor thanked the Christian leaders and the entire people of the state for maintaining religious harmony and peaceful co-existence in the state.
Dr. Saraki, who expressed his appreciation to the entire Kwarans for their cooperation and support to his administration in the last seven years, restated his commitment to the wellbeing of the citizenry in the last lap of his governance of the state.
