Voter card: Don't sell it, minister charges Nigerians... Sulyman, Ajibola call for extension

MINISTER of National Planning, Dr Abubakar Sulyman Olanrewaju, has advised Nigerian voters not to sell their voter cards for any amount, even as he drummed support for President Goodluck Jonathan ahead the 2015 general elections.

Speaking during his inspection visit to polling units in some parts of Ilorin West, Ilorin East and Asa Local government areas of Kwara State to observe the process of collection of permanent voter cards by  registered voters, the minister told the people that voter cards were their future.

It was gathered that the visit took the minister to Otte/Bala, Danialu/Gaa Akanbi, Okelele/Amule and Ikhwan polling centres.

...Sulyman, Ajibola call for extension

MINISTER of National Planning, Dr Abubakar Sulyman and the senator representing Kwara South Senatorial District, Simeon Ajibola, have called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to look into the call for extension of distribution of permanent voter cards in the state.

The duo spoke separately, shortly after receiving their permanent voter cards in their wards in Kwara State.

On the call for the extension of the execercise in the state, the minister expressed confidence that the Professor Attahiru Jega-led INEC was up to the task and urged the commission to look into it and make amends where necessary.
