The National Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Kwara State Chapter, on Monday congratulated Mrs Ifeyinwa Omowole and Hajia Bilqees Oladimeji on their election as National President and Vice President of the association  respectively.

This was  contained in a statement made available to the News Agency of  Nigeria (NAN) on Monday in Ilorin.

The statement  was jointly signed by the Chairperson of the union, Hajia Binta Mora, and Secretary,  Mrs Bola Olupinla.

It said the  election was widely adjudged free and fair, adding that this would mark a  good beginning for women journalists across the country.

The statement expressed optimism that the election would now usher in a  strong and reliable leadership which would promote  issues of womanhood.
