The State Commissioner for Health, Alhaji Abdul Kayode Issa who disclosed this said the handing over is in accordance with the provision of the construction contract awarded by the State Government.

He said the government accepted the handing over after series of inspection and satisfaction on the job done at the Hospital.

The Commissioner said the General Hospital being one of the five newly renovated Hospitals i.e Ilorin, Share, Omu-Aran, Offa and Kaiama that spread across the 3 Senatorial Districts, is a testimony of the State Government policy of providing quality, accessible and affordable health services within 500m radius to the people.

Alhaji Issa added that staff, which include Consultants, Doctors, Nurses, Pharmacists and other Para–medical staff are already  put in place to ensure that the people of Ilorin and environs receive adequate Health Care as and when due.

He also said the Hospital is ready for commissioning at a date which will be announced to the general public and that medical activities will kick-off immediately after the commissioning.

The Consultant, Yolas Consult and the Contractor, Messrs Henry George Ltd, thanked the State Government for its effort in improving the Health Care of the people of Kwara and formally handed over the Hospital to the Commissioner for Health, Alhaji Issa who received it on behalf of the State Governor.
