Letters: Attention, Governor Ahmed

Date: 2014-03-26

Permit me to appeal to the Kwara State governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed, on behalf of 2013 Law School graduates who are indigenes of the state, to accede to the request of the students by settling their Law School scholarship. One Alatise Taofeek had written to the governor to keep true to his promises of awarding indigenes who are admitted to the Law School. In the letter, Alatise said the governor gave N32 million to the 2011/2012 set, but is yet to redeem his pledge to the 2013 set.

I know Governor Ahmed is a listening governor, as well as a lover of education. I know he would settle the 2013 in due course. Members of the 2013 set have graduated from the Law School, but most of them loaned the money in order for them to become lawyers. I hope the governor can accede to their request.

Jimoh Mumin,
Akobo, Ibadan.
