ADC's death: Kwara debunks rumour ... Condoles family, KDSG
The Kwara State Government has debunked rumour surrounding the death of the aide de camp (ADC) to the State Deputyb Governor, Elder Peter Kisira which occurred Wednesday.
The Deputy Governor's ADC, Police Inspector Gaiya Mark allegedly died after a confrontation with an Okada rider who obstructed the convoy of the Deputy Governor.
A statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the State deputy Governor, Mr. Timothy Nathaniel said the deceased died from health related complications contrary to the rumour that the Okada rider used charm on him that resulted to his death .
The statement disclosed that the okada rider breached the convoy of the Deputy Governor who was on his way to his office at the Government House Wednesday morning which led to the attempt by the ADC to arrest the offending motorcyclist for warning. Eye witness account according to the statement revealed that the ADC slumped and died moments after stopping the Okada rider at UBA area of Muritala Mohammed way Ilorin but that there was no confrontation between the ADC and the motorcyclist.
According to the statement he was immediately rushed to the Civil Service Clinic where he was certified dead by the medical doctor on duty.
Early sympathisers to the hospital included the State Deputy Governor, Elder Peter Kisira, the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Isiaka Gold, the State Head of Service, Alhaji Dabarako Mohammed and a Government House delegation led by the Permanent Secretary Government House, Mr. Benjamin Fatigun.
His remains has since been deposited at the mortuary wing of the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital while burial arrangement would be announced later after necessary consultation with the family.
Police Inspector Gaiya Mark joined the Police Force in 2009 and was posted to the State Government House as ADC to the Deputy Governor making it his first major assignment in service.
He was aged forty years and survived by his father, wife and three children.
Meanwhile, the State Deputy Governor, Elder Peter Kisira, on behalf of the State Government has expressed condolence with the family of the Late Police Inspector Gaiya Mark who died in active service on Wednesday.
A statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the State Deputy Governor, Mr. Timothy Nathaniel described the death of the deceased as shocking and unfortunate.
The Statement which added that the deceased was a hard-working, humble and dedicated officer whose vacuum would be difficult to fill, stressed that he exhibited a high sense of commitment to duty at all times.
The State Government therefore expressed condolence with the family of the deceased, the Government and the good people of Kaduna State as well as members of the Nigeria Police Force and other security agencies.
While praying for God to grant the people the fortitude to bear the loss, the statement also prayed for God to grant the soul of the decease eternal rest.
