Friends, associates remember late Kwara gov.

Friends and political associates of the late governor of Kwara State, Admiral Mohammed Lawal gathered in Ilorin at the weekend to hold special prayers for him.

The prayer for the late governor, who died six years ago, was held at the central mosque within his Admiralty villa, GRA, Ilorin. Lawal, who was governor from 1999 and 2003 died in November 2006.

He was the then opposition leader in the state, having parted ways with late strongman of Kwara politics, Dr. Olusola Saraki, who was instrumental to his election.

Those that attended the prayer included a former commissioner for education in the state, Alhaji Issa Malete, former Chief of Staff, Government House, Alh Sulaiman Olowojare and former majority leader of the state House of Assembly, Alhaji Laaro Bolaji.
