Ismaila Sodiq of Osere Area of Ilorin, on Wednesday, prayed an Ilorin Area Court to dissolve his three-year-old marriage to Munirat Sodiq due to her alleged lousy nature.

The 38-year-old man also alleged that his wife’s talkative nature irritates him.

“My wife irritates me with her lousy manner because she is fond of shouting on top of her voice while discussing a little topic,” he said.

The plaintiff told the court that his wife was fond of shouting at him whenever he tried to caution and check her behaviour.

He said that their marriage, which was contracted in 2010, had produced one male child, Nurudeen.

“My Lord, I want an end to this marriage because I cannot condone a lousy woman, who shouts at every little thing and has no secret,” Ismaila said.

However, the defendant objected to the prayers of her husband, saying that she was still interested in the marriage.

“I promise not to shout at my husband anymore and will learn how to speak gently while relating with people around me,” she said.

Munirat prayed the court for an adjournment to enable her to reconcile with her husband.

The presiding Judge, Mr. Yusuf Abdulkareem, adjourned the case to November 29, 2013 for a report of settlement or continuation of hearing.
