KWSG moves against head teachers over PTA levy

The kwara state Government has cautioned Secondary and Primary School Head Teachers over enforcement of Parents Teachers Association (PTA) Levy warning that on no account should head teachers send any pupil/students home because of P.T.A Levy.

According to a statement signed by the Permanent Secretary of the State Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development, Alhaji Lamidi Alabi the state governor, Alhaji AbdulFatah Ahmed has directed that pupils should no longer be sent home on account of P.T.A levy.

He stressed that the payment of PTA levy is at the discretion of the Parent Teachers Association, "Based on mutual agreement between parents and school management, hence no pupil should be sent home for failure to pay the levy.

It is therefore an offence to send any pupil or student out of school because of the levy. Any principal or Head teacher caught disobeying the directive would face the full wrath of the law", the statement said
