Bashir set for ABS exit

Date: 2013-11-01

ABS legend, Abdulrahman Bashir, will not play any role for the relegated Ilorin side in the Nigeria National League (NNL) when the new season resumes.

Since his fantastic debut during the 2010/11 season, Bashir, who is described as the "Soul"of the club considering his position as a founding member, has remained a target of several top clubs.

Bashir holds a record of 62 goals (in the amateur and professional class) for the club.

"I'm heading for the exit and it's obvious I'll play for a Premier League side, next term. I've enjoyed my time at ABS.

"I'll have a discussion with the club's hierachy,"Bashir told SuperSport.com.

Bashir and club captain, Fade Adebayo, are the only players in the top flight, who played in the amateur and professional cadre for the same team.

ABS rejected offers from Kano Pillars to lure him last season.

SuperSport.com learnt that the trio of Enyimba, Bayelsa United and Sharks have made serious enquiries about the availability of the striker.

However, Enyimba and Bayelsa appear likely destinations because Bashir will get the chance of playing continental football.
