Senator Saraki said “I’m deeply saddened to receive the news about the loss of some of our party members who were stampeded after the Sallah festivities at the charity house. I commiserate with the families of the deceased and pray that Allah grant us the strength to bear the loss and for those responding to treatment, I wish them speedy recovery.”

The stampede happened last Wednesday’s night. Elderly women, who were at the Charity House, former residence of Senator Bukola Saraki to receive their annual sallah gifts which is usually given out by the Senator as part of the sallah celebration, were said to have been mostly affected.
