The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Kwara says it has deployed 1, 500 personnel to ensure security during the Sallah festival.

The state Commandant of the Corps, Mr Gana Yerima, disclosed this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Ilorin on Monday.

He said personnel in mufti and uniform were deployed in various locations in all the 16 local government areas of the state.

Yerima also said the command was collaborating with other security agencies in the state to ensure adequate security in all parts of the state.

The commandant urged residents to go about their lawful activities without hindrance or harassment.

He advised residents of the state to urgently report suspected criminals perpetrating criminal acts to security agents.
