Letters: KWASIEC and Local Govt. Polls of 26th Oct

Date: 2013-10-13

Dear Sir,

I wish to write for clarification,

It is no more news that, the Local Government elections organised by KWASIEC, comes up on the 26th of October as stipulated by the Government of Kwara State.

The questions here are thus:

1. What happens to the court cases associated with the legitimacy of the timing by APC? Is it that the organising body is a deaf and dumb entity that has no ears nor feelings for the contesting parties?

2. What is the legitimacy of those participating in the election? Could it be that the Baraje led group of PDP, is the legitimate group that is suppose to dominate the scene, considering the court case that nulified their existence and the INEC position of recognising the Bamanga Tukur led PDP. Insinuations are that the Old PDP is not participating in the election.

3. What is the position of all other registered parties and how comfortable are they with the time table of KWASIEC?

4. Why is the State Government in a hurry to conduct an election when they know that the main opposition is at a disadvantage, due to its present registration status?

All these questions needs answers, the Labour Party in this contraption were obviously not prepared and this is why they could not fill all the available vacancies with contestants, or is it that they lack men and material?

We yearn for insight on all these, we need education on the matters arising.
