Governor Saraki releases N25million loan for Kwara Football Academy

Kwara State Governor, Dr Bukola Saraki has approved the release of N25million Naira loan for Kwara Football Academy to enable 22 players and 5 officials of the academy embark on tour of Europe.

The loan, which is at the instance of the Director of the Football Academy, Mr. Clemence Westerhof, would enable the players to proceed on three weeks trials and training in Europe.

The trip is expected among others, to expose the players to the outside world so that scouts who wish to commence contract negotiations can watch them play and conclude agreements with the Academy.

The loan which is payable as soon as the players are sold would cover accommodation, transportation and the processing of International passports for the team. The players while in Europe are expected to play against top teams of 16-17 years category.

The Kwara Football Academy is the first of its kind in the country with facilities comparable to the best in Europe.
