Isiaka Olawale unveiled as Kwara Beach Soccer ambassador

The Kwara ministry of Sports and Youth Development, has unveiled Sand Eagles captain, Isiaka Olawale, as ambassador for the maiden Beach Soccer competition in the state.

Unveiling the Sand Eagles' captain, the State's Commissioner for Sports and Youth Development, Mr. Kale Ayo, said Olawale was chosen because of his antecedent in the beach soccer.

The Commissioner who disclosed that the ministry is partnering Sheedel Global Concept to organise the competition, said the people of the state are proud of Olawale's achievement in the sport both at the national and international levels.

Ayo pledged the full commitment of the ministry to the success of the competition.

In his remarks, the Chief Executive Officer of Sheedel Global Concept, Mr. Dele Oguntokun, said his company would take beach soccer to every states of the country but has picked Kwara as the pilot state.

He said the state was chosen because of its giant strides in promotion of sporting activities as a cardinal responsibilities in measuring social and general development of the state.

Responding after his unveiling, Olawale, thanked organisers for picking him as the ambassador because he is not the only player playing beach soccer.

Olawale explained that it was not his intention to play beach soccer before but he just picked interest in it.

He expressed the hope that players can be discovered after the competition that will represent the country as early as the December that Nigeria will host the beach soccer nations cup.

Also speaking at the unveiling, the national coach for Beach Soccer, Audu Adamu, praised the organisers for helping to raise the standard of beach soccer in the country.

He expressed the belief that the competition will be successful because he has seen some committed hands since he was called to be involved.
