Kwara Utd seek support as NNL kicks off.
Kwara United General Manager Haruna Maigidasanma has urged football fans to support the Ilorin side as they aim to return to the Premier League this season.
Maigidasanma also called for support for ABS FC, who are also seeking a return to the elite ranks.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that both clubs will compete in the Nigerian National League, which is expected to kick off on Saturday with matches to be played across the country in the abridged format of the competition.
According to the Kware United chief, the call is important because fans play significant roles in sports development.
“I want to appeal to our fans to always be behind the team no matter the result. You cannot win always,” Maigidasanma said.
“Kwara is a peaceful state, so, we want to ensure that our stadium is one of the most peaceful places to officiate.
“We are aware of the challenges before us and so are the players and their officials.”
NAN reports that Kwara United will play in Group A of the NNL.
Maigidasanma said ABS and Kwara United were one and urged the supporters of the two Ilorin clubs to support each team during matches.
