FG pledges to improve Colleges of Education

The Federal Government has completed arrangement to provide and improve facilities in all Colleges of Education in Nigeria to enable them perform optimally.

The acting team leader of the Presidential Committee on the Needs Assessment Visit to Colleges of Education, Alhaji Garuba Bello disclosed this in Ilorin.

Royal Times reports that the Team was at the Kwara College of Education, Ilorin in continuation of their nationwide tour to Colleges of Education in the Country.

According to the team leader, since Education is one of the transformation agenda of the Federal Government, adequate arrangement has been provided to improve on the infrastructure in Colleges of Education.

He explained that the Team would collate with all Colleges of Education owned by both states and Federal Government with a view of solving any problem being faced by the institution.

This according to him would enable the Colleges provide qualitative education that can meet the test of timer.

In his remark, the Provost of the Kwara State College of Education, Ilorin, Dr Isiaka Opobiyi praised the foresight of President GoodLuck Jonathan in the development of Education sector.

He said various projects provided through Tertiary Education fund (TETFUND) by the Federal Government have brought back the lost glory of the College.

The Provost noted that the College which was established about 40 years ago now has several dilapidated infrastructure.

The Team which is five in number later inspected facilities at various departments and units to ascertain areas of the needs of the College for Federal Government attention.

The visit of the team to the College is expected to end on Thursday.
