The College of Education (Technical) Lafiagi, Edu Local Government Area of Kwara State, has implemented the resolution of the state Assembly by reinstating one Mr. Simeon Olarewaju, who was earlier sacked by the college.

The state House of Assembly had ordered the authorities of the college to reinstate Olarewaju within 24 hours after the resolution was passed, and pay him all his entitlements. The college was also asked to make copies of evidence of payment as well as a recall letter available to the House within 7 days.

The assembly on the February 1, 2011, had passed a resolution on a petition written by Olarewaju, challenging his sack, but the college wrote to the House, saying the resolution of the lawmakers could not be implemented.

The House then summoned the chairman of the college Governing Council, Hajia Fati Kadir, its Provost, Dr. Zakarryau Abbas and other top officials of the college.

After that appearance, the authorities of the college tendered an unreserved apology to the House and vowed that such would not repeat itself.
