Ayo Bello: Gov Ahmed condoles Football Fraternity

Date: 2014-08-02

The Kwara State Governor, Dr. Abdulfatah Ahmed, has described the death of a seasoned football administrator and frontline ophthalmologist, Dr. Ayo Bello, as shocking and a loss of immense proportions to the sporting world and Kwara State in particular.

Ahmed, in a condolence message signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Alhaji Abdulwahab Oba, said Bello’s immense contribution to development of football in Kwara State and Nigeria as a whole cannot be wished away.

Ahmed recalled that as sole administrator of Kwara State Sports Council, Bello advanced the development of sports in the state just as he succeeded in entrenching Kwara United Football Club in the history of football clubs in Nigeria as the club’s Chairman.

According to the Governor: “Dr Ayo Bello, a former member of the Nigeria Football Association, through hard work, undoubtedly earned for himself favourable mention in the annals of sports development in the country.”

Ahmed prayed God to grant the Ayo Bello family the fortitude to bear the loss and the departed soul eternal rest.
