Atunwa, Na'Allah stress importance of research
Research, they said, was a potent strategy to addressing the development challenges confronting the any country.
They spoke on Monday during the Second Undergraduate Research Day of the university.
The university authorities, it was gathered, have so far invested about N4.4m for the first and second phases of the programme.
Also, the Coordinator, KWASU Centre for Undergraduate Research Programme, Dr. Grace Abolaji, and the Provost, College of Pure and Applied Sciences in the university, Prof. Deboye Kolawole, stressed the importance of research to national development.
Atunwa, represented by the Chairman, House Committee on Ethics and Privileges, Kamaldeen Fagbemi, said the programme was a courageous step towards research development for undergraduates.
“This will go a long way to impact knowledge not only to the students but the public. It will go a long way to solve the problems facing this country. It is through research that we will be able to identify how to improve on the economy or any other sector. It is important for national planning and development,” he said.
